Noël Hiers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with adolescents. She has a passion for working with teenagers and greatly enjoys her work providing clinical supervision for those seeking their LCSW. Noël has worked in a variety of social work settings including the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse, Covenant House for homeless teens, a School Based Youth Services Program, an outpatient mental health setting, and as a school social worker on a child study team. Noël has supervised staff in all of the above- mentioned settings as well as supervising staff working in an adolescent partial care program. Noël understands the benefits, logistics, and obstacles that are inherent in each of these settings. Noël has supervised LSWs as well as Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADCs) and Certified Art Therapists. She respects and appreciates the expertise of her fellow professionals.
As a clinician, Noël specializes in work with adolescents and their families. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor, and a Traumatic Loss Coalition responder. She has a passion for suicide prevention. She uses strength-based strategies to work through topics such as non-suicidal self-injury, and substance use in teens. She has expertise working with LGBTQI+ youth and connecting with local resources. She also has personal and professional experience working with children in resource homes (foster care). She is well versed in current laws regarding LGBTQI+ rights as well as rights for children with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
